CHICAGO—After spending 15 years in corporate America working in finance, Zenzilé Powell decided it was time to go from crunching numbers to serving crunchy treats on top of low-fat, refreshing frozen yogurt and sorbet.
This month she launches Zberry Frozen Yogurt and Treats Bar located in President Obama’s Hype Park neighborhood at 1368 ½ E. 53rd St. that combines her passion for entrepreneurism and great food. “I am so excited about bringing frozen yogurt and sorbet to southside of Chicago because it’s tasty, healthy and fun,” said Powell.
In a cozy setting, complete with free WiFi, Zberry features self-serve weigh and pay frozen yogurt and sorbet with a complete toppings bar that offers each customer a customized frozen treat experience. Toppings will include choices of fresh fruit, cookies, candies and more.
With healthier food alternatives in demand, Zberry’s yogurt and sorbet offers a low-cal, low-sugar, gluten free option with the probiotic benefits that promote healthy digestion. “People love yogurt and sorbet because it’s tasty and healthier. This will allow people all the indulgence with hardly any of the guilt.”
“We plan to have a wonderful alfresco dining experience. On a hot summer night, what more could you want but a cool treat, great ambiance and the company of friends,” said Powell.
Zberry Frozen Yogurt and Treats Bar located 1368 ½ E. 53rd St. (between Dorchester and Kenwood) is open 7 days a week: Monday-Thursday 11am-9pm; Friday-Saturday 11am-10pm; Sunday 11am-8pm. Call 773.855.8754 for more info.
