Now this news involving Chief Keef and Pastor Corey Brooks is good news and we hope the best for this young warrior. It's the making of a made for TV movie. The Gangsta and the Preacher.
According to Hip Hop Wired, Keef (whose real name is Keith Cozart) it's rumored that he met with Chicago pastor Corey Brooks and is going to get baptized once he's released from custody for violating parole.
Rev, Brooks who leads the New Beginnings Church in the city's Englewood neighborhood said something we respect and agree with:
He's not "a bad kid," but misunderstood. "I think people forget he is 17 years old,” Rev. Brooks said. "He is an entertainer, that is how he sees himself. But at the same time, he has a God-consciousness. He is not some terror who is wreaking havoc.”
Well said Rev. Brooks. We refuse to judge this young brother and speculate as to whether or not he's sincere. Only God can judge him. We do pray that he will make choices that will be good for himself, his family and the community that gave birth to him. We look forward to seeking Chief Keef in a few.
