Bean Soup Times Radio was popping today! This was a great conversation with Joe Ragsdale of the "Lest We Forget" Black Holocaust Museum and Glenn Towery, owner of Fairy God Brother Productions and Film Company, LLC that produced the DVD, Long Live the Spirit, a documentary about the Million Man March.  We discussed both of their projects as well as the impact of the Million Man March.

The 15th Anniversary of the Million Man March to be Commemorated in Tampa, Florida

The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan to provide keynote address; families nationwide expected to observe the Holy Day of Atonement

TAMPA The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan will deliver the keynote address Sunday, October 17, 2pm EST at the Tampa Convention Center located 333 S Franklin St, Tampa, FL 33602.

“The choice of Tampa by Minister Farrakhan was primarily because of the progressive study group there and the Minister wanted to honor the laborers and Believers there by hosting the 15th anniversary of the Million Man March in that city,” said Minister Ishmael Muhammad, National Assistant to Minister Farrakhan.

Many are expected from all across the United States and abroad to participate in workshops and seminars. Vendors will also have the opportunity to display their products and services to an enthusiastic crowd in a warm and friendly environment.

Inspired and lead by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, more than two million men marched in Washington, D.C. on Monday, October 16, 1995 to declare their right to justice and to atone for their failure as men to accept responsibility as the head of the family.

During Min. Farrakhan’s speech that day he explained to the world the need for Atonement, and he laid out the eight steps of Atonement. Thus, for the past 15 years people gather, reflect and observe the Holy Day of Atonement on October 16.

At the conclusion of the March, the hundreds of millions of men on the Mall, as well as those watching on television and listening to their radios all over the planet earth repeated a pledge given by Minister Farrakhan that focused on a personal commitment to be responsible and active in improving the Black community.
