Wow, Michael Jordan’s Steakhouse is celebrating their one year anniversary. Prior to dining at MJ’s Steakhouse, I was a bit optimistic. His last restaurant didn’t tickle my fancy. Recently, I visited MJ’s with friends and it was very impressive. Some people say ambience is everything.
The atmosphere was attractive but not mesmerizing. The wall art included very upscale wooden paintings of Michael Jordan shoe prints. While the décor was nice and simple, I was surprised at the dress code. It was really laid back especially since they are on located on the magnificent mile.
While the décor was laid back, Executive Chef James O’Donnell has captured my attention. It’s a must that you give him the opportunity to play with your taste buds. The food is tantalizing. While, I’m not a fan of blue cheese my friends encouraged me to try the garlic bread and blue cheese fondue. Loved It!
The New York strip steak was perfectly prepared and surprisingly well seasoned.
Of course, the macaroni and cheese was not my mother’s but I found myself wanting to ask the Chef what is that extra ingredient? Yummy! The glazed carrots were great and they didn’t skimp on the portion. During the month of August, MJ’s is offering an anniversary special. Guest can enjoy a three-course lobster dinner for only $49. Try it and let me know if you are impressed.
