FAT is just an adjective. HEALTHY is now a verb! IT IS TIME TO TAKE ACTION!

According to the Center for Disease Control, American citizens are too fat.  Chicago’s statistics show that African Americans and Hispanics are the most obese residents in the city. Mikail Redmond, Founder of FIT BY CHOICE in Chicago, Illinois, believes that FAT is just an adjective. It is his belief that nearly all citizens are in need of better health.

According to Dr. Howard McNair, it is important to exercise because it helps lower your blood pressure, prevent diabetes and keeps you healthy.

In an effort to change the health outcome of Chicago residents, FIT BY CHOICE launches its Summer Boot Camp on Chicago’s illustrious lakefront on 39th & Lakeshore Drive.

The camp will include traditional fitness techniques and new training methods with a mind, body and soul approach to health and wellness. This approach to fitness was designed to deliver results to a community of people at varying fitness levels. Through this approach, participants will relieve stress, improve their health and enjoy exercising while becoming committed to altering their fitness lifestyle.

When asked why “fit by choice,” Mr. Redmond offered, “we are engaging the entire human being.  The FIT BY CHOICE Summer Boot Camp is not a fly-by-night fitness pop-up.

Our team of Certified Fitness Professionals is committed to helping community members improve their overall health by helping them make the choice to be fit.

Statistics show that currently no state in the U.S. has met the nation’s ‘healthy people’ goal to lower the prevalence of obesity. There is a rise in the increase of heart attacks, strokes and diabetes in our community. We are committed to supporting people’s choice to be fit through our unique fitness model.”

The FIT BY CHOICE Summer Boot Camp begins Saturday, June 30, 2012. Participants may select two (2) sessions per week.  Sessions are on Saturdays at 7:00 a.m., 8:00 a.m. or 9:00 a.m., or Tuesday – Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

The lakefront provides a relaxing backdrop to a fun yet intense workout. People of all fitness levels are encouraged to join us. What a great opportunity to put the word “neighbor” back in neighborhood. Ask a neighbor! Ask a friend!  It is our hope that the girl next door or the guy across the hall will become your workout buddy.

Take the walk to the lakefront together. Start a neighborhood carpool to the FIT BY CHOICE Summer Boot Camp. FIT BY CHOICE is on a mission that we can and should all join.
