CHICAGO – Shanara Sanders, also known as Shanara “The MouthPeace”, will bless the city of Chicago with her musical and poetic gifts in her debut album, The Discipline & The Diligence. The Discipline & The Diligence shows Shanara The MouthPeace’s creativity and versatility in Spoken Word, Hip Hop and Soul.
Shanara “The MouthPeace” will unveil her debut album at the Eavesdrop Release Party on Oct. 18, 2012 from 8-10 pm at The Illinois Center for Broadcasting at 530 S. State St. This is a dual celebration that includes the 1 Year Anniversary of the popular open mic, State Your Poetry, that she co-hosts with Sharmon Jarmon of Strawberry Jamz Radio. For this epic event, special guest performers include hip hop artists SB, Christopher LeMark, as well jazz musician Larry Brown, Jr. and the gifted Poetry Tap.
Recorded in Tailor Loft Studios, the album was executive produced by Shanara “The MouthPeace” herself, in collaboration with Dee Lilly and TyYouGenius as music producers. The Discipline & The Diligence emphasizes empowerment and the ability to overcome fears and weaknesses through confidence, inner strength, perseverance and belief in God. Shanara “The MouthPeace” has crafted her album to be a symbol of mental, physical and spiritual strength.
“The Discipline & The Diligence is about confronting those human frailties that can be a hindrance to our growth and full potential. This album is a transparent journey on what it takes to rise above mediocrity,” Shanara “The MouthPeace” said. “This requires ‘The Discipline & The Diligence.’ This album explores a combination of genres and subjects.”
She has performed two music tracks from her album, Hiding and Reindeer Games, at the Quench Set in Chicago on Oct. 5. The attendees thoroughly enjoyed and applauded Shanara “The MouthPeace” for her performance, especially Reindeer Games. According to feature guest Christopher LeMark, “D&D is a fresh, honest and daring approach to poetry.”
