New Multiplication Times Tables Hip Hop CD Helps Parents & Teachers Make Learning Fun

Children struggling in math can use new teaching strategies designed to provide an exciting and effective way to teach students multiplication facts. The ‘Learning with Lil’ D’ educational CD combines professionally produced hip-hop music and lyrics to appeal to seven to 12 year old children

CHICAGO—With new teaching strategies that include using hip hop, Move Studio Chicago, a group of teachers, producers and songwriters teamed up to create “Multiplying with Lil’ D” an educational CD to improve the declining test scores of children in both urban and rural educational systems facing high deficiency in mathematics. Based in Chicago, Move Studio Chicago offers the Lil D CD online at www.lildlearning.com.

With catchy, professionally produced hip hop beats and great modern lyrics that include current cultural references, children aged seven to 12 can now practice their one through twelve multiplication times tables in a new, memorable and fun way. Several snippets can be heard online at www.lildlearning.com/listen.htm

When Move Studio noticed that students who have not learned their multiplication times tables believe they have reached an educational plateau that cannot be surpassed, they decided to do something about it.

“For a while I have been frustrated that math students were entering my class on day one unprepared. Unfortunately, this deficiency is a direct result of their lack of knowledge regarding multiplication times tables. The Lil D character was created initially for my students and it was such a hit with them and throughout the school, I knew we had to make it available for more parents and teachers,” said Berry.

After visits to schools in other districts and observing the inadequate test scores in Mathematics, it was realized that this is not a problem specific to certain districts. It is an educational problem that stretches a wide range of socio-economic and racial boundaries.

About Move Studio Chicago: Move Studio Chicago http://lildlearning.com/index.htm offers educational resources for parents and teachers seeking to help math students learn multiplication times tables in a fun and new way.
