Latrice Spann-Levitt: Helping Women Take Back Their Lives

Latrice Spann-Levitt, president of Spann Development, is on a mission to save Chicago, save the world. Some 15 years ago, rather lost in the shadow of his larger than life family (the legendary Spann family has been associated with Black radio since 1963) Latrice found how to tap into the greatness inside of her at an event some 15 years ago. She knew it was time to bring that “soul massage” back.
Today, like many people of conscious, she grieves over the senseless deaths and killings taking place in Chicago and all over the country in the Black community. Latrice believes that women hold the key to reversing the spiraling downfall of the Black community and well, all of civilization.
“Too often the men are not present, but now too many women are checking out,” said Latrice, a Hampton University alumni. “Women must walk into our passion and purpose.”
So, on Saturday, March 27th, Latrice has brought together WVON, the Black McDonald’s Owners Association, Compass Personal Development Company for Women and a list of other sponsors to host the very first “Take Back Your Life, Mind Body & Soul” women’s retreat for a day of enlightenment, renewal and empowerment.
The event’s featured speaker will be world-renowned lecturer, author and TV personality Dr. Iyanla Vanzant.
“The best gift you can get is a better life,” she said. “We are focused on five core areas in women’s lives: spirituality, life balance, health, relationships and finance.”
“You were created to be great and the life that you were destined to live is waiting for you to show up and claim it,” said Latrice. “I want to use this event to help guide you to live the life that the Creator wants for you; to you learn how to live the best life you can.”
