Facebook Experiment: Call all 5,000 of my FB Friends; Day 1

Peace family, today, I thought about calling every friend I have on Facebook. At first it was just a thought, but I decided to post that thought to see what the response would be. Well, I posted it on my page at about 9:30a and by 6p, nine people liked the post and 29 people commented on it. Here's what I said:

"I do personally know many of my Facebook friends but many I do not. It makes me wonder...what if I called everyone on the number they have listed on FB and tried to have a conversation with them? Get to know them somewhat so that I can say I know each of my FB friends personally? How would they react?"

All the reactions were positive and the five people I called were even more so. I learned some fabulous things about my Facebook friends.

I want to know who's on my list. I want to know something about them FROM THEIR MOUTH TO MY EARS! Here's what I learned thus far.

One of my FB friend is a wonderful photographer who's work I have actually seen before. Her page is full of people that I know. As we talked, we commented on each other's pages. That was pretty cool.

Another FB friend is very passionate about starting her own business and has great skill in cosmetology and the other "ology" that deals with skin. :-).

Another FB friend is on his way to becoming a great journalist. He's intelligent, humorous, and committed to our community.

FB friend number four for the day is a real shaker and mover and even invited me to promote my business at his weekly event. Oh yes, I'll be doing that. LOL

Finally, my last conversation was talking to a sister of a friend that I have known for years. I met the sister when she as producing a radio show that I would do a guest appearance on once a week. That's how I became friends with the sister. Well we talked today and now we are friends! LOL She's just as bright and community-oriented as her sister.

I am going to chronicle these as I make the calls highlighting the informative, inspiration and funny along the way until I call everybody on my list.

Thanks for the "implied" shout out!

It's a great marketing idea because DIRECT MARKETING has one of the highest returns on investment.
But it's just something fun to do as well. And boy can you multi-task. You can handle your house and hold a conversation. LOL!
