Gubernatorial Candidate William "Dock" Walls Pushes Back on Chicago School's 'Birthday Sex' role model
Calling Jeremih Felton "a sultry song singer with sensual lyrics," gubernatorial candidate William Dock Walls said CPS should have gone in a more wholesome direction when picking a celebrity to encourage students to get back to school according to Chicago Sun-Times article.
I am with you on this Doc. I don't want my three school age children following his message. Here's the irony. Jeremih graduated from high school at 16 to study engineering at the University of Illinois. He then transferred to Columbia College to pursue a music career. For that he should be celebrated, but few children know that. What they know is Birthday Sex, a song that promotes teen promiscuity which can result in an increased teen pregnancy rate and increased drop out rate.
So it's not the hard work ethic and intelligence that he's promoting over the airwaves and I am just wondering how many elementary students will get in trouble on the first day of school because they will be sining the lyrics to Birthday Sex while sitting at their desk.
It's not just important to get students to school, but we must get them there in the right frame of mind. We need to get the teachers and the entire system in the right frame of mind also for that matter.
