Cheryle Jackson to announce race for U.S. Senate

It's all over the news wires now. Cheryle Jackson, the president and CEO of the Chicago Urban League, will e-mail supporters later today announcing that she will indeed run for President Barack Obama's old seat in the U.S. Senate.

Jackson, 44, will be in the Democratic primary race with Illinois Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias. The winner will likely oppose North Shore GOP Congressman Mark Kirk in the November 2010 general election. She has the drive, energy, and intelligence. Financing will be crucial to her success. Everyone knows Giannoulias has money and knows how to get more, but Jackson is a resourceful woman and if the only thing she's missing now is money, you better believe she has a plan in place to get it. Things are about to get real interesting.
