Why Conferences Like the Urban League's Matter

Cheryle R. Jackson, president of the Chicago Urban League and Toure Muhammad

This year, as I embark on my quest to build my business and be a full-time entrepreneur, I have really seen the value and importance of attending conferences such as the one being held in Chicago this week by the National Urban League.

Not only are the seminars and workshops informative, but the people you meet and the opportunities that develop by you just being "present" are incredible. I encourage anyone looking to advance their career or grow their business to take advantage of attending conferences and networking every chance you get.

During the Urban League's national conference, I was blessed to briefly talk with the marvelous Cheryle R. Jackson. She's truly a gem. Hopefully, I will be interviewing her for a national publication soon. I want to talk to her about the conference, what characteristics she possesses that she believes has allowed her to grow both personally and professionally, and whatever else she wants to talk about.

If you have a question for her, leave it in the comment section of this blog. If I use it, I'll give you a shout out.

To stay informed, follow Cheryle on Twitter at http://twitter.com/CheryleJackson.

Also visit www.DriveChangeNow.org to learn how you can become involved in the Urban League’s movement for change.
